Lockdown Latest!

Well, what a strange summer we are having…

Hello! It’s glorious weather, the birds are singing, the woods are full of bluebells. And we have absolutely no visitors here enjoying themselves.

We certainly won’t forget the 2020 season!

Just to fill you in on how Cuckoo Down Farm is faring during lockdown, we thought we’d post a news story about the fact that we have… no news.

We are all at home (hey, there are worse places to be in isolation) and spending our time in lockdown getting the farm looking super-beautiful for when we re-open.

We’re planting veg, mowing, strimming, fixing and painting. It is looking GORGEOUS.

For our visitors who have already booked, please do contact us so that we can work out what’s best to do about your booking.

We have everything crossed that we will be seeing some of you at least this year. We have also shown our support by giving away two free stays in 2021. Congratulations to Elsie, whose mum Victoria wrote on our Facebook competition to find a child most deserving of a post-lockdown holiday:

“Here’s my girls and I in FULL lockdown down to protect our littlest bean, Elsie, who has cerebral palsy and is therefore extra vulnerable to this beastly virus. Elsie has drawn a picture of her happy time painting In the garden. Not only are we separated from our family and friends but also their daddy who is frontline working and therefore too high risk to visit other than through the window. Two years ago we spent every minute of every day fundraising for a life changing surgery for Elsie and my girls made the sacrifice without complaint as they’ve done again with this. Times are tough and yet they are still smiling, I’m in awe of there positivity but goodness I’d love to give them a rainbow!”

The Blake family will be coming for a free holiday here in 2021.

We have also given away a holiday to an NHS hero, won by Critical Care nurse Kelly Billing, who works in Sheffield. Kelly was nominated by her mum who said: “I would like to nominate Kelly Billing she is my daughter. Doing an amazing job of training and working in a critical care unit. She needs something good to lift her spirits at this time please.”

We will soon be giving away a FREE WEDDING for 2021 to someone who has had their marriage plans disrupted by the lockdown. Look out for our Facebook posts to find out more and enter! In the meantime, best wishes to you all and stay safe.
